There's a new article on Credit Cards .com.au that says that the average Australian credit card account holder could probably save $345 by switching to a low rate credit card and using a balance transfer deal.
The article says that the average credit card account in Australia is about $3,142 and an average interest rate about 17.19% pa. They compare this to several low rate credit cards that have an average interest rate of just 12.40% pa. They say by switching to a low rate credit card and taking advantage of balance transfer deals of say 0% interest for 6 months an average credit card account could save $345 over a year.
