YOUR credit card reflects your personality and lifestyle, according to a survey of Australia's 15 million card holders.

Norman Morris, from Roy Morgan Research, summarised card holders for Money magazine this month.

* Bankcard: These people are likely to be traditional family-life types.

* Visa, MasterCard: Young, outgoing optimists who live in the inner city.

* Gold Visa, MasterCard: Visible achievers. The gold card proves they have made it.

* Loyalty Cards: They fall into the previous category. Most are white-collar workers.

* Platinum cards: All bankers want a platinum card-holding chief executive, senior manager or entrepreneur on their books.

* American Express, Diners Club: The highest socio-economic group. ``This type of person is likely to be a politician, public servant or business analyst who is addicted to finding out new information. They're smooth talkers who can persuade others to agree to their opinions," Mr Morris said.
